Tada! Meghan Markle’s first ever Wax doll has been unveiled by the London Wax Museum (Madame Tussaud) in anticipation of the Royal Wedding and i must tell you, it really does look like her. From the nose to the cheek bones to her easy smile and her long dark locks, i say this wax double is the next best thing to getting close and personal with Meghan. It is a faithful rendition of the
American soon to be Duchess.
The figure of the royal bride-to-be is clad in a green, sleeveless mid-lenght PAROSH dress and some nude heels, similar to the one she wore for their engagement announcement. It also displays a replica of the ring that Harry had custom-made for her: the original features a diamond he sourced for her from Botswana and two inherited from his mother, Princess Diana.
Harry’s figure, which was originally made to celebrate his 30th birthday, has been updated and both will be accessible to the public the day before their nuptials on May 19. The attraction is holding a “stag and hen do” before the Royal wedding at which over-18s can take photographs with the waxwork figures.
A second figure of Meghan is also being unveiled at Madame Tussauds’ sister attraction in Time Square, New York City on Wednesday to mark the first time a U.S. citizen has joined the royal family in 80 years. The wax figure will be named an “American Princess”, and she will strike a different pose, and wear an outfit designed by British label Self-Portrait (as seen above).
Tussauds London’s general manager Edward Fuller said: “Excitement ahead of the royal wedding is reaching fever pitch and we have been inundated with questions about when people can finally meet ‘Their Royal Likenesses’.
“We’ve given Meghan an open invitation to come and see the exhibit,” said another spokeswoman for Madame Tussauds London “But I understand that she’s rather busy at the moment.”
The attraction says it will offer free entry to guests named Meghan or Harry on the day of the royal wedding. So good luck to all the Meghans and Harry’s trying to get into Madame Tussaud on that day, we will be fooled by your selfies.
