Indisputably, Tiwa Savage is indeed the Queen of Afrobeats. Especially if that means being one of the very first female artists of her generation and in Africa to sell out the prestigious O2 Arena in London. The whole of Nigeria and Africa and the UK came to a stand still at some point in the last twenty four hours to celebrate Tiwa Savage, as she prepared to headline her very first grand concert in London. Tiwa has been a relentless musician, mother and performer and her successful music career shows this.

Just two days ago, Tiwa was pushing boundaries with the launch of her very own street-style merch ahead of her big O2 concert at a Pop-up shop in Soho London (See here). Fans lined up in numbers to get their hands on Tiwa’s trendy and colorful merch which sold out quickly and in no time. From making time for a one-on-one shopping experience with her London-based fans and supporters who flew in from all across the globe, to rehearsing for what was the biggest night of her life, Tiwa is a living proof that true passion for what you were born to do and what you love doing is all the fuel you need to keep going.

Tiwa took the stage at the O2 Arena in a bright yellow ruffled number and rocked a grey-ombre wavy hair. The First lady of Mavin Records was set to wow the crowd as she performed her hit songs All Over,  Lova Lova and Malo. Tiwa’s concert was sold out much earlier in the week so the O2 Arena was as packed to capacity, as you can imagine with die-hard devoted fans who seemed to be chanting every word along with Tiwa and recording with their cellphones. Tiwa was also joined on stage by fellow Mavin singers Dr. Sid, Reekado Banks, Dija and Don Jazzy who flew in last minute from Nigeria to be with Tiwa.

Other musicians who took the stage to thrill Tiwa’s 3000 hyped fans included Wstrn, Congolese superstar, Awilo LongombaMystro, and the Alternate Sound Band. Dare i not mention Tiwa’s amazing group of dancers who rocked the stage with Tiwa…you know the lady knows how to dance for Africa!!!
